Roof", Qinghai-Xizang

characteristics and evolution of
biota, the development and
utilization of resources in the
Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, which have
enriched and developed the
theories of geoscience and
biology, provided scientific bases
for economic construction in
plateau areas, received universal
attention and favorable comments
from the same trade both at home
and broad.
In the
comprehensive researches of the
Himalayas and the Qinghai-Xizang
Plateau, Chinese scientists also
made a number of breakthroughs,
for example, several top world
records created in drilling the
ice core specimens in the
Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, the
growth-ring data of trees
collected at an elevation over
4,500m and the world deepest
high-quality 50-second deep
reflective common-midpoint 15-time
superimposition section obtained
for the first time.
